In 2019, Accor launched a partnership with Air France and KLM. In short, it allows you to earn points in both schemes at the same time.
It’s rare to be able to earn points with two schemes at the same time. Normally, you’d need to earn with one, and then transfer to another (usually at a poor rate) if you wanted to convert. With the Accor Air France partnership, you can stay at an Accor hotel, and earn points both with ALL (Accor’s loyalty scheme) and Air France/KLM Flying Blue. Naturally, it works in the reverse too.
So, what are the benefits of the Accor Air France Partnership?
Obviously, this means you can accumulate points in both schemes faster. This means you’ll be closer to free nights with Accor, and mile redemptions with Air France and KLM. The Accor Air France partnership is pretty easy to understand:
- For every β¬1 you spend on a flight with Air France or KLM you’ll earn the equivalent of 0.5 ALL points.
- For every β¬1 you spend with the vast majority of hotels participating in the ALL loyalty scheme, you’ll earn 1 mile.
In addition, when you sign-up you’ll enjoy a couple of ‘welcome gifts’. These include 2 status nights with Accor, and 10 XPs with Air France/KLM Flying Blue. They also throw in a free six month subscription to Youboox.
After registering, you’ll get half of the bonus nights and XP points after your first stay with Accor. The second half will be awarded after taking an eligible flight with Air France or KLM.
What are the conditions of the Accor Air France Partnership?
Any flights operated and sold by Air France or KLM are eligible to earn points with ALL.
It’s a little more complicated when it comes to hotel stays. Most Accor hotels participating in the ALL scheme will result in you earning 1 mile per β¬1 spent. Stays at ibis, ibis Styles and Mama Shelter are equivalent to 0.5 miles per β¬1 spent. Adagio is 0.4, while Adagio Access is 0.2.
Worth it?
Absolutely. Even though I don’t frequently fly with Air France or KLM, you lose nothing by linking your ALL account with them. It’s a way of getting extra miles and ALL points at no additional expense to you.
The welcome gift is a little more debatable. 2 status nights with ALL, and 10 XPs with Air France/KLM Flying Blue aren’t going to get you very far. But they could one day be the difference between a status upgrade.
How do I register for the Accor Air France Partnership?
Registering is easy. You can simply visit the Accor website here. Remember, you’ll need to be signed into your Accor account, and have registered for Flying Blue if you’re not already a member.
